New Orleans to Host Petroleum and Chemical Industry PCIC Conference
Premier Conference of Electrical, Electronics Engineers in Petroleum & Chemical Industry Returns
NEW ORLEANS–(July 17, 2018)–The Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee (PCIC), a part of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Industry Application Society (IAS), will return to New Orleans for its annual conference in 2023. The 70th edition of the PCIC Conference is being held Sept. 11 to 14, 2023 at the New Orleans Marriott. The conference was previously held in the Big Easy in 2012, 2002 and 1961.
The premier conference for practicing electrical engineers and other professionals working with electrical systems in the petroleum and chemical industry, PCIC attracts approximately 1,500 manufacturers, integrators, end-users and consultants from around the world to participate in the advancement of electrical applications, safety, and technology related to the petroleum and chemical industry and beyond.
PCIC Conference 2023 in New Orleans
PCIC 2023 Local Committee Chair Dean Ruiz, P.E., M S Benbow & Associates (MSB) director of engineering, led the effort to nominate New Orleans for the conference and has been an active member of the organization for almost 20 years. Ruiz served as local committee vice chair for the 2012 PCIC conference and was a member of the local committee responsible for hosting the 2002 PCIC conference in New Orleans.

PCIC is highly regarded as the leading forum for exchanging experience and advancing electrical applications in the petroleum and chemical industry. The PCIC annual conference was founded in 1954 and is rotated across North American locations of industry strength to attract national and international participation. This year’s PCIC Conference takes place Sept. 24 to 27 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
